Enlargement or swelling of the prostate gland in men is called enlarged prostate, also known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). In this condition, non-cancerous growths develop inside the prostate. This issue mostly affects older men. When the prostate gland enlarges, it compresses the urethra, leading to urinary problems. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Ayurvedic expert Acharya Balkrishna have shared insights on managing prostate-related problems.
How to treat enlarged prostate gland?
Baba Ramdev says that the prostate gland typically weighs 20 grams, but it can increase to 30 grams, 40 grams, or even 50 grams. With age, most men experience prostate enlargement. This also increases the risk of prostate cancer. Baba Ramdev suggests that the permanent solution is to regularly practice Kapalabhati Pranayama. Kapalabhati Pranayama is also beneficial for those whose prostate has enlarged to 50 to 100 grams.
Acharya Balkrishna advises that in addition to Kapalabhati Pranayama, Gomukhasana and Ustrasana should also be performed if the prostate gland is enlarged. Mandukasana and Vakrasana can also be performed.
Acupressure for treating enlarged prostate
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has suggested an acupressure technique for people suffering from prostate problems. According to him, gently pressing the center of the palm regularly can help provide relief from prostate-related issues and may aid in controlling an enlarged prostate.
This Ayurvedic medicine will be helpful
Men with an enlarged prostate often experience frequent urination. Older men, in particular, suffer from frequent nighttime urination, which disrupts their sleep. Baba Ramdev suggests that Chandraprabha Vati and Gokshuradi Guggul can be used to alleviate this problem. These are Ayurvedic medicines that provide relief from prostate issues. Acharya Balkrishna also recommends using Kanchanar Guggulu and Vriddhivati Vati for prostate problem.
Try this vegetable juice
Bottle gourd juice can also be consumed for prostate problems. Baba Ramdev advises mixing 7 basil leaves and 5 black peppercorns with bottle gourd juice and drinking it. It is important to ensure that the bottle gourd juice is not bitter.
Dates will also be beneficial
Dates are a dried fruit that Acharya Balkrishna considers very beneficial for prostate health. He suggests chewing and eating 4 to 5 dates for prostate gland problems or urinary issues. During the summer months, dates can be soaked in water overnight and consumed the next morning. Regular consumption of dates helps in resolving prostate problems.
