The government of Punjab has granted 505 bus permits to strengthen the transport system in the state. Bhagwant Mann said the government will introduce 1,300 more new buses. During an event, Mann attacked the previous Badal family government, saying that instead of decentralisation of buses, there was “Badalikaran” of buses.
The chief minister also lashed out at Pratap Singh Bajwa, saying Bajwa had established the highest number of toll plazas when he was the transport minister of the state. He also hit out at the Centre over the renaming of the MGNREGA scheme, alleging that the Narendra Modi government is betraying the poor people of the country. He said his government will call a session in the second week of January. He also attacked the Centre over the Agniveer scheme.

Sharing further information, Bhagwant Mann said 17 toll plazas have been shut down in the state, saving Rs 64 lakh every day. He said that while the concept of toll plazas exists worldwide, it should be optional.
