The chief minister said he is consistently making efforts to provide employment to the youth.

The government of Punjab has granted 505 bus permits to strengthen the transport system in the state. Bhagwant Mann said the government will introduce 1,300 more new buses. During an event, Mann attacked the previous Badal family government, saying that instead of decentralisation of buses, there was “Badalikaran” of buses.

The chief minister also lashed out at Pratap Singh Bajwa, saying Bajwa had established the highest number of toll plazas when he was the transport minister of the state. He also hit out at the Centre over the renaming of the MGNREGA scheme, alleging that the Narendra Modi government is betraying the poor people of the country. He said his government will call a session in the second week of January. He also attacked the Centre over the Agniveer scheme.

The chief minister said he is consistently making efforts to provide employment to the youth. He added that people often complain about the lack of bus services in villages, and now buses are being operated in school areas, creating job opportunities.

He said the roads are in poor condition, but 43,000 kilometres of roads are being constructed with a focus on quality, and contractors have been given a five-year maintenance responsibility.
