Information Technology Minister Aman Arora made the announcement during a review meeting held at MGSIPA. The expansion of Service Kendra was focused during the meeting. All deputy commissioners have participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
Additional Chief Secretary D.K. Tiwari and Director (Governance Reforms & IT) Vishesh Sarangal also participated in the meeting. The discussion was focused on good jobs at the existing 544 Seva Kendras across Punjab, which include 263 urban and 281 rural centres. These 465 self-sustaining centres are offering government-to-citizen (G2C) and business-to-citizen (B2C) services.
During the review meeting, it also came up that the number of cases returned had dropped compared to earlier, because of a reduction in unnecessary objections. The minister directed deputy commissioners to adopt the government’s commitment to zero pendency, and to ensure all service must be delivered within the stipulated timeline.
Issues like pendency, service-wise performance, objections raised by officials, and the online field verification process were discussed during the meeting. He stressed that officials with zero pendency will be rewarded. He said four lakh applications have been received for online verification, out of which 96.3% have been processed.
He said the construction work for all new ‘Seva Kendras’ will be completed by January 15, 2026. It is here noteworthy, the Bhagwant Mann government has also launched the ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ programme and the Citizen Service Delivery Portal to enhance consumer experience, accessibility and efficiency.
