Further, the Adani OneApp will also provide information about eating establishments, beverage outlets, retail outlets, lounges, and other terminal facilities so that the passenger can make better use of time at the airport.

As reported by the News Agency, airport officials said that this network has been planned in such a way that it can provide stable high-speed connectivity even when it is busiest, enabling unbroken messaging, online payments, taxi reservations, emails, online video viewing, and video calls.

NMIAL, in line with its connectivity plan, has tied up with government-owned BSNL to provide mobile network services at this airport. This collaboration echoes the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, wherein BSNL will use the ‘Make in India’ telecom infrastructure developed by C-DoT, Tejas Networks, and TCS.

Also, BSNL has introduced its native 4G network in the country, which is compatible with both 4G and 5G networks, and the company aims to introduce the next generation of 5G networks in the major metros of the country, including Mumbai. At the NMIA, the telecommunication company intends to offer voice and data services to passengers and the staff of the airports.

As reported by the News Agency, as Mumbai’s second airport, NMIA will commence its operations, handling a few flights, and will eventually scale up in phases. As informed, there are tests being conducted for operational preparedness to ensure all digital services are in place.

Its international airport, being developed by the NMIAL in which the Adani Group has a stake of 74%, is set to commence operations from December 25. PTI further added that, built at an investment of Rs 19,650 crores, the initial phase will be capable of handling 20 million passengers per annum, to be expanded to 90 million. This will reduce the capacity constraints associated with the existing airport in Mumbai.
