The meaning of success differs among individuals, but it always boils down to making choices and doing so in the here and now. MS Dhoni, in his interaction with students at Parul University’s Mission Possible 2025, talked about prioritisation at an early age, learning through daily life experiences, and doing what propels you towards doing, not what distracts you.
He made it clear in the very first response that he has always been a fan of youngsters, as the future is formed by those who remain curious, dedicated, and willing to work. He said that this is a phase in life when one finds opportunities as well as distractions, and that knowing what is worth giving attention to is a skill worth learning.
When asked what he liked most about Parul University, MS Dhoni said the campus had a lot of energy and diversity. It was like going into a small city, he said, where various fields coexist in the same environment. The friendliness in communication remained with him, and he enjoyed that students here are free to experiment, switch gears, and know what suits them rather than being confined to a single option.
“Ultimately, it’s the choices you make that decide your life.” Dhoni used this line to open up the idea of learning beyond marks or results. He talked of 360-degree education, the type that thrives on teachers, classmates, low cost, opportunities, and daily discussions, not just textbooks. Teaching is a subject that continues to change,e and students should change with it. The importance of curiosity, awareness, and experience is equal to lectures.
He talked of distractions without pretending that they do not exist. “Distractions toh hoti hi hai,” he admitted, adding that while growing up, a lot of things look tempting but may not take you anywhere. Time management was what enabled him to maintain the separation of priorities, and he understood that when there is no clash with important tasks, it is simpler to stay on track.
MS Dhoni returned to preparation towards the end. Confidence does not enter your life merely because you wish to succeed, but you have to develop it over time through habits such as eating healthy, sleeping, attending, and being ready to face whatever the next day brings. His first appearance was not what he expected, but the decision to return to try again changed the course of his career. Wins and losses do not happen every day; there are lots of days when you learn something to take with you. The session provided clear and practical demonstrations of how consistent decision-making can influence long-term developments.
