In an industry often measured by square footage, M3M India is setting a new benchmark—one built not just on towers and townships, but on compassion, care, and community impact. At the heart of this shift is iMpower, a flagship social development programme by the M3M Foundation, which is quietly transforming the lives of migrant workers and their families across India.
Real estate contributes nearly 7% to India’s GDP and plays a vital role in employment generation. Yet, the sector’s unsung heroes—the lakhs of construction workers powering its growth—often remain on the margins of development. M3M India, a leading real estate developer, is working to change that narrative.
Launched under the leadership of Payal Kanodia, Trustee of M3M Foundation, iMpower stands for Initiative for Maximising Potential Of Workforce through Ensuring Resources. The programme directly reaches out to migrant labour communities, addressing critical gaps in education, healthcare, digital literacy, and access to government welfare.
From Gurugram to Noida and Panipat, over 50,000 workers and their families have already benefited from the initiative across 39 active locations in three states.
Key interventions under iMpower include:
Early childhood education centres set up on construction sites
Adolescent engagement through Kishori Samoohs and life skills training
Digital skilling of adult workers for e-governance and financial inclusion
Health and hygiene initiatives, including maternal counselling and sanitary pad distribution
Access to social entitlements, helping workers secure Aadhaar cards, ration benefits, insurance and more
These site-based iMpower Clubs act as community anchors—safe, hygienic spaces offering children pre-school education in line with the state curriculum. Once ready, children are enrolled into formal government schools, creating a sustainable pipeline from labour camps to the education system.
The programme came into sharp focus during the COVID-19 pandemic. While lockdowns paralysed supply chains and triggered mass labour migration, iMpower became a lifeline—serving over 1.8 lakh people through meal distribution, ration kits, and essential healthcare supplies.
Even today, M3M Foundation serves more than 37,000 fresh meals daily at project sites, ensuring that every worker ends their day with dignity and a full stomach.
Speaking on the initiative, Payal Kanodia noted, “Real development begins with those who build the nation. Our goal is to ensure that the workers behind our infrastructure are not just included, but uplifted.”
With iMpower, M3M India is redefining what it means to be a builder in modern India. It’s no longer just about homes and high-rises, it’s about hearts, hope, and human potential.
As India aspires to a $5 trillion economy, the success of iMpower proves that true nation-building begins from the ground up—with the very hands that raise our skylines.
