The Aligarh Division of the Indian Board of Education held a regional seminar recently at the Kalyan Singh Habitat Center in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, focusing on the integration of Vedic knowledge with modern education. Divisional Commissioner Sangeeta Singh attended as the chief guest, and Joint Directors Manoj Giri and Rakesh Kumar served as special guests.
Dr. NP Singh said that in the current environment of modern and Western education, there is a lack of Indian culture and values in education. In India, concerns over the moral decline among students are increasing, and addressing this issue is a core mission of the Indian Education Board.
Singh said that children must get in touch with their roots, make them cultured and character-oriented by connecting them with Indian culture, Vedas, Shastras, Upanishads, Gita spiritual teachings, and blending with modern computer science and the origin of nature. For this, he said, the mindset about our traditional knowledge must be altered. To put India on the global map, the schools must affiliate with the Indian Education Board.
N P Singh further discussed in detail with the managers, principals, and representatives of schools from all the divisions about the need for the Indian Education Board.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, the Divisional Commissioner stated that instilling values in children is primarily the responsibility of parents and teachers. He emphasized the schools need not be made overly attractive with large buildings and elaborate facilities. He said we need to return to ancient Vedic culture. He appealed to the public to enroll children by linking their schools with the Indian Education Board.
The seminar was conducted by Sunil Shastri, State In charge of Bharat Swabhiman. From the Patanjali family, Dayashankar Arya, State In charge of Patanjali Kisan Seva Samiti, State Executive Member Ravikar, State Communication In charge J.C. Chaturvedi, Yashodhan, Shivnandan, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Narendra Sikarwar, Vijendra Waliyan, Sanjeev, and over 300 schools from the division participated.
