Hypertension is no longer limited to the elderly. Due to lifestyle-related factors, even the youth are now vulnerable to this condition. High BP significantly increases the risk of heart attacks, cardiac arrest, and strokes. In India, the situation has reached an alarming level. According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report, 1.28 billion people globally – aged between 30 and 79 – are currently battling hypertension. Within India, approximately 33% of the urban population and 25% of those in rural areas are affected.

In response to this growing health crisis, Patanjali Research Foundation Centre, based in Haridwar and established by Acharya Balkrishna and Baba Ramdev, has developed an Ayurvedic medicine named Patanjali BPgrit. Described as a fusion of Ayurveda and modern science, this herbal remedy has been created using rare medicinal herbs and tested through scientific procedures before being made available for public use.

According to Patanjali, BPgrit is considered an overall heart health solution. It not only helps in managing hypertension and pre-hypertension symptoms but also provides protection from various cardiac disorders. While allopathic medicine focuses on controlling high BP through chemical drugs, Ayurvedic systems like Patanjali’s claim to treat the root cause of the illness.
