Faruk Patel’s KP Group Expands Manufacturing Capacity With New Industrial Facility

The Bharuch facility represents KP Group's expansion into heavy manufacturing for renewable energy infrastructure.

KP Group, founded by Faruk G. Patel, has commissioned a new manufacturing facility in Matar, Bharuch district, featuring what the company states is Asia's largest galvanizing kettle. The 56-cubic-meter industrial unit processes 90,000 metric tons of material annually and incorporates German technology alongside green hydrogen integration.

The Bharuch facility represents KP Group's expansion into heavy manufacturing for renewable energy infrastructure. The galvanizing operations provide corrosion protection for steel components used in solar panel mounting structures, wind energy installations, and telecommunications equipment across India's growing clean energy sector.

The company's manufacturing expansion comes as India increases domestic production capacity for renewable energy components under Make in India initiative. The facility reduces reliance on imported galvanized materials for large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the solar and wind energy sectors where demand for treated steel components continues to grow.

KP Group's operations extend beyond manufacturing to include project development and technological innovation. The company has developed automated cleaning systems for solar installations that operate without water usage, addressing resource constraints in regions where solar projects are typically located. These robotic systems have been deployed at more than 25 utility-scale installations across the country.

The company maintains a centralized monitoring facility in Surat that tracks performance data from renewable energy assets using digital systems. This Network Operations Centre oversees wind and solar installations totaling more than 1.5 gigawatts across multiple states, providing real-time operational data and maintenance scheduling.

KP Group's industrial operations have created employment opportunities in Gujarat's manufacturing sector, with the company reporting a workforce of more than 6,000 people. The expansion of manufacturing capacity aligns with government initiatives to increase domestic production of renewable energy components and reduce import dependence.

The company's integrated business model combines manufacturing capabilities with project development activities. Current operations include solar power generation, wind energy

development, and industrial services, with the three publicly listed entities under the KP Group umbrella reporting combined market capitalization of ₹133 billion as of May 2025.

Future manufacturing plans include expansion of production capacity to support the company's stated goal of developing 10 gigawatts of clean energy capacity by 2030. The planned investments encompass green hydrogen production facilities, battery energy storage systems, and component manufacturing for floating solar and offshore wind projects.
