Srinagar: On the momentous occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, CM Bhagwant Mann, along with National Convener of AAP Arvind Kejriwal and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, participated in a ‘Nagar Kirtan’ (religious procession) in Srinagar.
In this display of deep spiritual devotion, thousands of devotees were seen partaking in the Nagar Kirtan to mark this sacred occasion. CM Mann expressed how fortunate they all are to get a chance to be part of these historic events during their lifetime. Mann remarked that the Almighty has blessed the state Government to take on this major responsibility and assured that they will spare no effort for this noble cause.
CM Mann recalled noble Guru Sahib’s universal message of peace, humanity, love, and brotherhood, which is still relevant today. He urged the people to follow the path guided by the Guruji. He claimed that the state government was committed to honouring this sacred occasion with utmost respect and solemnity.
The grand Nagar Kirtan featured an impressive procession of vehicles, including those for Public Announcement, Gatka, perfume, Shahadat-e-Loh, Palki Sahib, Panj Pyaare, Panj Nischaanchi, Nagada, Raagi, sound systems, a digital museum, Langar, storage, buses and cars for the sangat, ambulances, crew, recovery vehicles, and many others.
CM Mann showed gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Sikh Sangat on behalf of the Punjabi government for making it all happen. He said that to commemorate Guru Sahib’s martyrdom day, the Punjab government is organizing events across various states.
It may be noted here that the commemorative procession that was held on November 19, started from Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi, will reach Gurdwara Shri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22, halting at Pathankot (November 20) and Hoshiarpur (November 21).
