Unemployed but educated youth will receive financial assistance for about a year if Congress comes to power in Delhi’s upcoming election. Following two schemes announced on January 1, the Congress has introduced another scheme called “Yuva Udaan Yojana.”
Under this scheme, unemployed but educated youth of Delhi will receive Rs 8,500 for approximately a year if the party comes to power. However, the scheme will not benefit unemployed educated youngsters who are merely sitting at home.
As Quoted by Hindustan Times Congress leader Sachin Pilot said, “We will provide financial assistance to youths who can demonstrate their skills in a company, factory, or organization. They will receive money through these companies. This is not a scheme under which one will receive money while sitting at home,”.
He added, “We will ensure that people are absorbed in fields where they have received training, so that they can enhance their skill sets.” On January 6, Congress introduced the “Pyari Didi Yojana,” promising ₹2,500 per month if they win the Delhi election.
On January 8, they also announced the “Jeevan Raksha Yojana,” which would provide free health insurance up to ₹25 lakh. The voting for the 70-seat Delhi assembly will take place on February 5, and the results will be announced on February 8.
In the last two elections, AAP won a majority with 67 and 62 seats in 2015 and 2020, while the Bharatiya Janata Party came second. Congress, however, didn’t win any seats in those elections. Congress has not been in power in Delhi since December 2013, when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took over.
