New Delhi: Youth Congress workers were detained on Sunday while they were trying to hold ‘Mashaal Julus’ at Jantar Mantar road in the national capital.

The protest was held against the Central government. Several protests took place across the nation on Sunday to condemn the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha member.

Starting from Delhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and party’s general secratary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra headed ‘Sankalp Satyagrah’ to Raj Ghat where they addressed th eparty workers and public.

During the rally, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and said that the former remained silent despite every insult. She said that her mother Sonia Gandhi was insulted in Parliament but no action was taken.

She added that Rahul Gandhi, son of a martyer, was called Mir Jafar but no body was jailed or disqualified. She further lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling him ‘coward’ while adding that put me in jail now.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi updated his Twitter Bio to to Dis’Qualified MP following the cancellation of his Lok Sabha membership.

Gandhi was expelled from the Lower House after he was convicted in a Modi Surname defamation case. In 2019, at a Lok Sabha polls rally in Karnataka, Gandhi had alleged said, “Why all the thieves, be it Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi or Narendra Modi, have Modi in their names.”
