In a major update, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set the deadline for completing the KYC process of the FASTag for the users, aligning with RBI guidelines, as per reports.
If a user fails to do it, then the bank will blacklist or deactivate the users FASTag even if their account contains the valid balance. The last date to compete the process is March 31, 2024.

The infrastructure of the country is developing day by day, NHAI has introduced the ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ program in order to optimize the electronic toll collection system and facilitate smooth traffic flow at toll plazas.
This initiative aims to discourage the use of a single FASTag for multiple vehicles or linking multiple FASTags to one vehicle.

Online Process for FASTag KYC
Visit the official website of FASTag at fastag.ihmcl.com.
Navigate to the KYC option.
Select your customer type.
Proceed with the KYC update process by acknowledging the declaration.
Provide the necessary documents such as ID proof, address proof, passport-sized photo, and your address details.
Review all the entered information carefully before submission.
Offline Process for FASTag KYC
Visit your bank branch to initiate the offline KYC process.
Obtain the FASTag KYC form from the bank.
Fill out the form completely and accurately.
Submit the form along with the required documents, including PAN card, address proof ID, and passport-sized photo.
The bank will verify the submitted form and documents.
Upon successful verification, you will receive a notification via email and SMS.
