The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority is all set for the distribution of 13.6 acres of land in Sector 22A for CISF personnel stationed at Noida International Airport, Jewar during its scheduled board session on March 28. This land is near the Yamuna Expressway and the Noida International Airport. CISF Deputy Inspector General Vinay Kajla made another appeal to secure free land for this purpose. The first phase of airport security deployment requires 1,047 CISF personnel who need 447 family residences and must use bachelor quarters located at the airport facility.
Up to 55% of non-gazetted personnel of CISF receive bachelor housing under CISF Rules, 2001 while supervisory officers and non-supervisory personnel who are not married get full family housing that accounts for 45% or more. On the other hand, YIAPL is already building bachelor accommodation within the airport. The first group of CISF personnel at this airport encompasses a commandant and two deputy commandants alongside seven assistant commandants, 318 inspectors and sub-inspectors, 445 assistant sub-inspectors, and head constables, and 274 constables. The officials at YIAPL stated that building bachelor housing on their site must be accompanied by family lodging options in nearby areas.
As quoted by Times of India, YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh mentioned that “The YEIDA Board approved the land allotment in Feb 2023 under the group housing category. The board decided to allocate the plot to YIAPL at 15% above the prevailing group housing rate. Subsequently, in March 2023, YEIDA wrote to YIAPL requesting a payment of Rs 195 crore for the land.”
The plots in Sector 22A were approved in February 2023. This was approved for distribution to the airport’s concessionaire, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited. This was under the group housing category for CISF.
The authorities at YEIDA have presented two options to build family quarters through a joint venture development partnership with the CISF or allowing the CISF to select its own developer. Bidhil Universal Limited will present this project to the board for evaluation during their March 28 meeting. Until the completion of the family housing project, the CISF personnel with a married status will receive a housing rent allowance for private residences, as per officials.
