The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has started the process of land purchase for the proposed Heritage City project in the Mathura district. In this regard, the authority has taken the initiative to obtain consent from the farmers. According to the official, the land registration work will start as soon as the compensation rates are decided. This decision will be taken in the YEIDA board meeting to be held this month.
A senior YEIDA official said that the compensation value of the land will be decided in the upcoming board meeting, after which the process of compensation distribution and the sale deed will start. The project will be based on the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model, and the land will be purchased directly from the farmers, not through the traditional acquisition system. He also informed that the process of land purchase is going on in Arua Khadar and Bhim Khadar villages, and the authority has also set up an office in Mathura.
This is part of the proposed Heritage City Project Phase 2 on 735 acres, which has been under consideration for the last two to three years. The DPR has been amended several times due to encroachment on land and requirements of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The project will be developed on both sides of the 15.3 km road stretching from the 101 km mark of Yamuna Expressway to NH 44, as reported by Millennium Post.
The major facilities to be developed under the Heritage City are as follows:
Theme-based heritage park on 350 acres
Yoga, wellness, and naturopathy centre on 103 acres
Green area in 97 acres
Tourist transport services in 46 acres

Hotels in 26.60 acres
Affordable hotels in 19.60 acres
Old age home on 10 acres
Service apartments in 07 acres

The authority will issue a tender by the end of this month to select the developer company for this project. The land acquisition will be conducted from the following villages: Arua Khadar, Bhim Khadar, Dangoli Khadar, Pani Village Khadar, Piproli Khadar, Jehangirpur, Begumpur Khadar, and Jehangirpur Khadar.
