YEIDA: Good News! Authority Plans To Link Noida Airport With NH-34 Via Sikandrabad

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced plans to construct a link road connecting the upcoming Noida International Airport with National Highway 34 (NH-34).

Noida International Airport in Jewar may be connected to NH-34 to boost connectivity, according to a Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) official, who added that discussions with NHAI are underway regarding the proposal.

Earlier, Jewar was connected to Sikandrabad, but when the government acquired 1,334 hectares across six villages for the airport’s first phase, including a 3km stretch of the Jewar-Sikandrabad road, access to Sikandrabad was cut off.

An alternative route through Jahangirpur and Jhajhar was later created, but it presents significant challenges. Plans are in place for a potential link road from the airport to Khurja, connecting to NH-34, though this depends on a feasibility study. NH-34, a major route connecting cities like Haridwar and Bulandshahr, is crucial for the airport’s connectivity.

Additionally, a nearly complete 31km stretch connects the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to the airport, and UPEDA is proposing a new expressway from the Ganga Expressway to the airport, which will interface with NH-34. YEIDA is carefully planning the alignment of these roads to ensure efficient connectivity without overlap. Closing the NH-34 gap remains a top priority to enhance transportation around the airport.
