Yamuna above danger mark: Yamuna water level on Monday recorded at 205.48 metre, slightly above the danger mark of 205.33 metre. Waterlogging situation continued to persist in many parts of National Capital.

According to the Central Water Commission, the Yamuna water level, which had crossed the danger mark, flooding most part of the Delhi, was recorded at 205.48 at 7 am on Monday down from 206.02 m at 8 am on Sunday. As per the data, the water level stood at 205.45 m for the last 3 hours before 7 am.

On Sunday, the water level was recorded at 205.56 metres at 8 PM on Sunday.

Last week on July 10 at 5 pm Yamuna River was flowing above danger mark of 205.33 in Delhi.

The hourly water discharge from the Hathni Kund Barrage which had gone up to approximately 3,60,000 cusecs on July 11 was at 53,955 cusecs on Sunday at 08:00 PM.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Sunday, announced ten thousand rupees per family as financial help for the flood-affected families.

Total 17 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are deployed to carry rescue work in flood-affected districts in Delhi. So far 1606 people have been rescued. The teams recsued over 7241 people and evacuated956 livestock. Moreover, pre-hospital treatment has been given to 908 rescued persons.

Around 26,401 people have been evacuated from the flood-affected low-lying areas of six districts of Delhi, out of which around 21,504 people are staying in 44 camps. The rest of the evacuated people have shifted to the places of their choice like their relatives’ houses or rented accommodations.

Earlier, on December 13, the Delhi government’s Directorate of Education (DoE) had issued a circular directing all government, government-aided, and recognised private schools under DOE, NDMC, MCD, and Delhi Cantonment Board to conduct classes in a hybrid mode for students up to Class IX and XI.
