The areas near Noida and Greater Noida region are witnessing various developmental projects, some are ready to get implemented and others are under process. One such development in the region is the work of the interchange on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
Earlier, the work was stopped, but now it is ready to get kick start again. Several preparations are done to start the project. The work was stopped in midway 7 months ago. It got delayed due to matter of extra expenditure of Rs 22 crore for constructing it.
The team of NHI has done a survey on the spot. The work got initiated for the first time in 2019, and got delayed due to land dispute between farmers and authority, as per media reports.
According to media reports, the work got restarted by Chief Secretary of State in 2023, but got stopped due to expenditure related issue. To construct this interchange, the company demanded around Rs 22 crore for soil filling and other works, but this was not expected by the NHAI.
According to media reports, as per latest update, the work of the interchange is likely to get completed in next one year. It will have 8 loops, the total length of which is 11 Km.
Benefits From The Interchange
Once the interchange gets operational, it will benefit the commuters who are travelling to Agra from Delhi. It will also make it easier for people to reach the upcoming Noida International Airport.
As of now there was no link between the Yamuna Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, but will soon get linked once the interchange gets operational.
