The board meeting of the Yamuna Authority, scheduled to be held on December 23, 2024, has reportedly been postponed for an uncertain period. The move comes after the Uttar Pradesh government removed Yamuna Authority Chairman Anil Kumar Sagar from his post on Saturday. According to reports, the meeting will only take place once the new chairman is appointed.
How Will It Impact Noida Airport Expansion Plans?
One of the important proposals to be discussed in the board meeting includes purchasing land for the third phase of Noida International Airport, reports said. This might result in a delay in Noida International Airport Expansion Plans.
The other key proposals are 64.7 % additional compensation for farmers, lease back policy of population plots, and resolution of land disputes with farmers.
The matter of transferring PWD roads from the Greater Noida-Agra-Yamuna Authority was also on the proposal list. However, the matter can only proceed after the appointment of the new chairman.
Why Was Anil Sagar Removed From His Post?
Anil Sagar was removed from his position as directed by the High Court due to corruption-related charges. He was accused of causing irregularities in the work of the Yamuna Authority and negligence in compensating farmers. The next steps regarding the pending agendas are awaited.
