New Delhi: The White House affirmed to be aware of reports of online harrassment with the female journalist who asked Prime Minister Narendra a question over Muslim and other minorities rights in India.
US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby strictly stated that there would be no room for such harrassment of “journalists under any circumstances” as it is against democracy.
“We are aware of the reports of that harassment. It’s unacceptable, and we absolutely condemn any harassment of journalists anywhere under any circumstances. That’s just, that’s completely unacceptable and it’s antithetical to the very principles of democracy that were on display last week during the state visit,” said Kirby in a press briefing.
