Wrestlers Protest: International Wrestling refree Jagbir Singh stated against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, saying that he observed from a feet what happened. “Something wrong happened to her,” said Jagbir, reported The Indian Express.
As per the newspaper, the refree gave his statement to the police in which he backed up a complainant who alleged that the WFI chief “place his hands on my buttocks” after which she tried to free herself.
Jagbir Singh who has been a refree since 2007 further stated that he did not see him while doing the act but “his hands and legs were always active, saying ‘come here, stand here’.” He added that it was clear from the behaviour of the wrestler that something was wrong.
The international refree is among over 125 potential witnesses, across four states, who are part of the police probe, reported the newspaper.
As per the media report, the woman said the accused came beside her when she was posing for a picture when she felt hands on her body. She added that she tried to escape but the accused held her shoulder. The refree also showed the photograph in question.
