New Delhi: Ace wrestler Bajrang Punia Monday said all the political parties are invited this time to join their protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Talking to media person, the top wrestler said, “This time, all parties are welcome to join our protest whether it is BJP, Congress, AAP or any other party.”
He added that, “We hail Tiranga when we win medals and not political parties’ flag. When we win all parties comes to congratulate us not just one party and neither we are affiliated with any party but the nation.”
Punia urged everyone including general public to join the protest. He said, “If we do not fight for the protection of our sisters and daughters today then, we will not be able to fight for anything in the future.”

Brinda Karat Was Asked To Leave Stage
Earlier in January when the protest first took place, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Brinda Karat reached the protest site to show her support to the wrestlers but she was asked to step down from the stage.
The top wrestlers cited that they do not want to turn this protest political. Karat was later asked to sit among the audience.

Been 3 Months, No Justice But Torture
On Sunday, the top wrestlers returned to Jantar Mantar to resume their protest against the BJP MP who has been charged of sexual harassment of many female athletes. Top wrestlers like Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malikkh have claimed support of many such victims who faced sexual assault.
Over 3 months have passed and wrestlers alleged that they recieved threats from many sides. The top wrestlers accused that they had submitted their complaints at police station but still no FIR was filed.
Delhi Police Initiates Probe
On Monday, the Delhi Police launched a probe in the matter and also sought a report from the committee constituted by the Sports Ministry. Earlier, the Ministry formed a committee to look into the charges levelled against the BJP MP.

Allegations
The case pertains to sexual harassment allegations against the WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh. Apart from that, the wrestlers have alleged that “WFI knows nothing about the Wrestling” and all athletes have to struggle for basic help and facilities.
