Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday led a march in Kolkata in a show of support for protesting wrestlers. The march will continue on Thursday as well.
The CM headed the march to Ravindra Sadan that started from Hazara mod in the state capital to extend support to grapplers who have been demanding an arrest of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual assault allegations.
CM Banerjee also informed that a TMC delegation will visit the protesting wrestlers and to affirm their support.
“Our team will go to meet the wrestlers and support them. We are with you, that’s why we have taken out this rally today. It will be continued tomorrow also. Wrestlers are the pride of our country. We are with you in your fight,” said Mamata Banerjee.

Addressing the gathering she said that, ” I am proud of our wrestlers and will support them in all possible manner”.
CM on Tuesday advised state sport Minister Arun Biswas to organise a protest march against Delhi Police manhandling to protesting wrestlers.
