Dibrugarh: The world’s longest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas completed its 50-days river journey as it reached Assam’s Dibrugarh.
The journey began from Varanasi Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the cruise on January 13.
The MV Ganga Vilas cruise, during its journey, crossed 5 Indian states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Assam. The cruise entered Assam on 17th February via Bangladesh. It has covered a distance of 32,00 Kilometre.
The 36 tourists, all from Switzerland, have visited 50 tourist spots, including world heritage sites, rivers, ghats, national parks and major cities like Patna in Bihar, Kolkata in West Bengal, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam.
Union Minister of ports, Shipping, and waterways Sarbanand Sonowal along with other ministers welcomed all the passengers onboard in Dibrugarh.
