‘Humanity Bleeds…:’ Poster On Truck Condemning Pahalgam Terror Attack Spotted At Times Square

The message in the poster read as: "Humanity Bleeds, The world must wake up” and “Innocent Civilians Killed,” along with the hashtag ‘Pahalgam Terror Attack.’

The Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22 has been receiving strong condemnation from across the globe. Amid global uproar, a truck with poster demanding justice for the victims was spotted at New York’s Times Square. The poster called for action against the recent terror attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir, India. In the poster, along with the ‘Wake-up’ message, photos of the innocent people killed by terrorists were also displayed. The message in the poster read as: “Humanity Bleeds, The world must wake up” and “Innocent Civilians Killed,” along with the hashtag ‘Pahalgam Terror Attack.’

The posters were put up in truck as an effort to spread awareness against the terrorism on the streets of America.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian government withheld X account of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif. Moreover, social media accounts of many Pakistani journalists associated with Pakistan ISPR and ISI for spreading fake news and misinformation were also banned.

On Monday, India had announced a ban on 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for spreading provocative and communally sensitive content and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies in the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack. Collectively, these channels have a massive following of over 63 million subscribers.

Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres dialled Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. In his call, with the two leaders, Guterres emphasised the need for justice and accountability. He condemned the attack and expressed concern over rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Guterres warned that “confrontation could have catastrophic consequences.”

Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, while addressing a press briefing stated that he (Guterres) spoke to EAM S Jaishankar and Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif. Guterres emphasised on importance of pursuing justice and accountability for these attacks through lawful means.

26 civilians were killed and several others were injured in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. The responsibility for the brutal killing was claimed by the Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit of Lashkar-e-Taiba. India has intensified measures to nab the terrorists and is continuously monitoring the situation.
