In a recent incident that occurred on a Goa-bound flight, a Delhi-based woman named Alisha Adhana found herself in trouble with the law after she allegedly opened a pet carrier during the flight, causing panic among fellow passengers.
The incident has led to the filing of a complaint by the flight manager against Adhana under Section 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for endangering the lives of the crew and other passengers.
The episode unfolded on an Akasa Air flight, where Adhana was traveling with a family member and her pet. Standard airline protocol mandates that pet carriers should remain closed and secured in the cabin during the flight. However, shortly after takeoff, Adhana’s dog began to make noise, likely due to the turbulence experienced during the flight.
In an attempt to soothe her pet, Adhana made the ill-fated decision to open the pet carrier and let the dog out. Unfortunately, this action led to an immediate reaction from her fellow passengers, who began to panic as a result of the unexpected presence of the unleashed dog within the cabin.
The situation escalated quickly as co-passengers voiced their concerns about the presence of the animal on the flight. The flight manager, recognizing the potential danger to both passengers and crew, decided to take action. He lodged a formal complaint against Adhana for violating safety protocols and causing a disturbance on the flight.
