A woman’s mutilated body was found on a railway track on Barauni-Katihar railway division on Friday. The woman was reportedly mentally unstable.
According to a Hindustan report, the police suspect that the woman was hit by a train. The incident took place under Sahebkamalpur police station limits.
Locals alerted victim’s family
The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Sita Devi, a resident of Rohua village. The locals said that she would often leave her home and wander in the village and nearby locality. On Friday, she went out and did not return home. A few people alerted the woman’s family that a mutilated body was discovered on railway tracks.
They rushed to the spot and identified her. The police sent the body for postmortem and launched a probe into the matter.
4 killed, 15 injured as bus overturns in Jaunpur
In another incident, four people were killed and 15 others were seriously injured after a private bus lost control and overturned in Lakhouwa village under the Baksha police station area of Jaunpur district.
The private passenger bus was travelling through the area when it suddenly went out of control and overturned, leading to the death of the passengers on the spot.
Upon receiving the information about the incident, the police reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital.
‘Bus suddenly went out of control’
According to Superintendent of Police, Dr Kaustubh, “A private bus carrying passengers in Lakhouwa of Baksha police station area of the district suddenly went out of control and overturned in Baksha. In this tragic accident, four people died on the spot, while 15 other passengers were seriously injured.”
