New Delhi: In a chilling and shocking incident, Mahi Arya is reported to have orchestrated a diabolical plan to murder her ex-boyfriend, Ankit Chauhan, in order to start a new life with her lover, Deep Kandpal. The heinous act involved using a cobra, allegedly hired through a snake charmer, and poisoning Ankit’s beer. The inspiration for this twisted plot was said to be a true crime TV show.
The disturbing sequence of events unfolded in north India, leaving the local community in shock and sparking a police investigation. Following the incident, the authorities launched a manhunt and offered a reward of £475 to apprehend the accused killers.
Mahi was planning the murder since two months
According to local reports, Mahi had been plotting the murder for a period of two months, working in collaboration with her new partner, Deep Kandpal, and a maid whose identity remains undisclosed. The trio executed an elaborate scheme to ensure the success of their sinister plan.
On the fateful day, Mahi invited Ankit to her house, where she allegedly served him beer laced with mixed intoxicants. The unsuspecting 32-year-old was then reportedly bitten twice by a cobra, which led to his loss of consciousness.
After the venomous attack, Ankit was left for dead, and his lifeless body was discovered on July 15, 2023, by a local businessman who promptly alerted the authorities and Ankit’s sister, Isha.
Cause of death: Snake bite
Initial investigations initially misdiagnosed the cause of Ankit’s death as asphyxia, a condition caused by a lack of oxygen leading to unconsciousness or death. However, a subsequent post-mortem examination revealed the true cause of death: the fatal snake bites.
The sickening nature of the crime was allegedly inspired by a popular TV show called “Crime Patrol,” which reportedly influenced Mahi’s sinister intentions.
Following extensive efforts, the authorities located Mahi and Deep Kandpal in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, and arrested them on alleged murder charges.
The tragic and bizarre sequence of events serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of being influenced by fictional crime shows and highlights the need for awareness on mental health issues and conflict resolution in society. As the investigation unfolds, the community remains in mourning over the loss of Ankit Chauhan, while seeking justice for the crime that has sent shockwaves through the region.
