Earlier this month, the Election Commission removed the national Party status of TMC after reviewing its eligibility.

Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday claimed that the TMC chief had called up Union Home Minister to request him to intervene and restore the Trinamool’s national status.

Chief Minister denied all the accusations made by her former close aide Suvendu Adhikari.

Suvendu defected to BJP before 2021 Assembly Polls and defeated Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram constituency in the election.

Briefing to media, she also commented on the efforts made by Opposition parties to team up against the BJP ahead of 2024 General election.

“Sometimes silence is a golden toll. Don’t think Opposition is not sitting together. We all exist, and everyone is maintaining relations with each other,” she said.
