First Woman To Head WFI
Focusing on Anita’s chances of victory, if she wins the elections then she will be the first woman to lead India’s ancient sports federation that always saw the male as the chief. All presidents so far have their roots to male akhadas only.
Even in the authorities, there were all male leaders to be the decision-makers. At least that might change with her being the WFI chief.
Competing Against Bhushan’s Frontrunners
However, Anita has opted up for a tough competition as she will be fighting against two frontrunners from Bhushan’s camp. One is Sanjay Singh Bhola who was a part of last executive committee while another is the president of the Delhi wrestling association, Olympian Jai Prakash.
