Jaipur: The intense conflict between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Congress leader Sachin Pilot has seemingly stagnated to an arrangement giving the internal conflict in Rajasthan Congress a rest on Thursday.
This comes after Gehlot agreed to accept the key demands of Sachin Pilot including the launch of investigation in the cases alleging corruption during the regime of Vasundhara Raje government.
While addressing a press conference the Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal spoke on the party’s preparations for Rajasthan Assembly elections. He said, “29 leaders from Rajasthan Congress including the chief minister & PCC chief participated in this meeting today. All the leaders unanimously decided that Congress can win the Rajasthan elections provided there is unity among Rajasthan Congress. Today, all leaders decided to fight the elections unitedly. On the basis of winning ability, the candidates will be selected. The list of candidates will be announced in the first week of September.”

After the meeting, Sachin Pilot said, “Today, a meeting was held with Congress leaders in Rajasthan regarding the upcoming state assembly elections. We have formulated a strategy for the upcoming elections. For the past 25 years, there has been a pattern in Rajasthan where Congress and BJP have alternated in forming the government. However, this time there is a discussion about repeating our government. We have discussed crucial issues of Rajasthan in the meeting. We will work together as a team during the elections.”
