Why This ‘One-House Roadblock’ On Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Won’t Be Touched- Ministry Has Another Plan! Here’s What It Is!

There were many questions regarding this, whether this small house would delay the project or cause traffic issues on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway or not. The government has finally given answers to all these questions by issuing a release.

A 1600-square-meter plot in Mandola, which was hindering the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway project, has received a response from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. There were many questions regarding this, whether this small house would delay the project or cause traffic issues on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway or not. The government has finally given answers to all these questions by issuing a release.

About The Land Issue:

In the 1990s, Veersen Saroha lived with his family in a modest house on a 1600-square-meter plot in Mandola, but the land use in the area was different back then. It was a rural area, with houses and agricultural fields. In 1998, the UP Housing Board announced its plan to acquire 2,614 acres of land across six villages near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border for the Mandola Housing Scheme. Over time, families gradually accepted the offer to surrender their land.

Although many landowners surrendered their land to the authorities, Veersen continued to refuse to give up his property.

How Ministry Have Reacted To It?

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways have issued a release for the same. The release mentioned, “In reference to the news item carried by some publications regarding private land/structure at Mandola, Bagpat causing hinderance in completion of the upcoming Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. This is to clarify that there is no hindrance on the main Expressway, and it remains unaffected.”

It also mentioned that, “Two ramps on each side of the Expressway have been provided for entry and exit of the traffic. Out of the four, ramp number 2, 3 & 4 have been completed, and service roads have already been constructed. The issue pertains only to a small stretch of 90-meter of the service road adjacent to ramp number 5.”

As per the release, “The owner of the land parcel on ‘Ramp-5’ has filed a writ petition in the Hon’ble High Court of Allahabad (Lucknow Bench) and the matter is pending before the Hon’ble Court. There will be no effect of this hinderance on the traffic using the main Expressway. Only a small part of the service road will be hindered by the disputed land/structure. In order to maintain the traffic flow at the location, a temporary bypass arrangement has been made. Vehicles taking the service road and exiting from ‘Ramp-5’, will be able to take a diversion road through internal road of Mandola Vihar Yojna, ensuring free flow of traffic in this area.”
