Reflecting on his transition from overseeing election campaigns to being a candidate himself, Goyal highlighted his extensive experience of over 40 years in politics, including his early involvement with former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani. He acknowledged Prime Minister Modi’s encouragement to engage directly with the public and expressed eagerness to address their concerns if elected.

Responding to concerns about his shift in roles and whether his candidacy was secured on a safe seat, Goyal dismissed any fears, attributing his confidence to the widespread support for Modi. He pointed to the Modi government’s initiatives, such as providing ration to 80 crore people during the COVID-19 pandemic and fulfilling the vision of ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’, as reasons for the public’s trust.

When asked about the BJP’s strategy in Mumbai, specifically mentioning the ticket allocation where Gopal Shetty and Poonam Mahajan were not chosen, while others were selected as candidates. Piyush Goyal responded by stating that ticket allocation is not a matter of concern, as different party workers are assigned different responsibilities at different times. He emphasized the unity within the party, highlighting that all members are together, working as a strong team.
Goyal’s remarks underscored the BJP’s confidence in Modi’s leadership and its organizational strength as it gears up for the elections.
