New Delhi: The top three leaders of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar are expected to arrive in Delhi around 4 pm on Thursday. They will likely meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah at around 6 pm today, according to sources speaking to CNN-News18.
This comes after Eknath Shinde declared on Wednesday that Shiv Sena would support PM Modi and Amit Shah’s decision on the appointment of the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Amid suspense over the next CM choice, NCP chief Ajit Pawar who is already in the capital city said on Wednesday that a final decision will be taken tomorrow over government formation.
He said discussions will be held for the post of Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers. “All three of us are coming to Delhi tomorrow. Further discussions will be held there,” Pawar told reporters.
The BJP will probably get the chief ministerial post, while deputy chief ministers are expected to be names from its allies.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday, Shinde said, “I have told the Prime Minister that if there is any problem in forming the government in Maharashtra because of me, then do not bring any doubt in your mind and whatever decision you take, that decision is acceptable to me.”
