Anticipation over who will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi will end tomorrow as the Bharatiya Janata Party held a legislative meeting tomorrow (Monday) at 3 pm, according to reports.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is returning (from his foreign visit) by tonight. There will be a meeting of our parliamentary board tomorrow or the day after. Delhi’s new CM will be before you.” BJP spokesperson, Ajay Alok said on Friday.
The BJP won 48 of the 70 seats in the Delhi assembly elections, removing the Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal from power of the national capital.
Despite controlling Delhi for the last 10 years, AAP only secured 22 out of 70 contested seats in the elections whose results were announced on the 8th of February.
From strongholds, Former CM Kejriwal along with several other party leaders lost their seats while current Chief Minister Atishi was able to hold onto her constituency.
The Congress party, which ruled Delhi between 1998 and 2013, is still struggling to maintain relevance, as this time they fared just like the last and won no constituencies.
