Delhi Blast: Investigations are underway into the Delhi car blast that occurred near the Red Fort area on Monday, claiming multiple lives. Initial findings by the Delhi police indicate that it could potentially be a ‘Fidayeen’ (suicide) attack. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect, Umar Un-Nabi may have planned the suicide bombing after learning that the Faridabad terror module had been busted.
Officials said that all relevant agencies are now probing every possible angle to uncover the motive and network behind the deadly explosion. Notably, Dr Umar Un-Nabi is a suspect in the blast, and his family members including his mother and brother have been detained for questioning in Jammu and Kashmir. Umar, who was on the run following the bust of the Faridabad terror module had possession of the car at the time of the blast.
