New Delhi: In today’s India, there is hardly any field to find which has not been explored by a woman yet.

We remember a India where women used to spend all their lives within the boundaries of their houses or in the kitchen only. Women over the years, faced oppression and did not get enough recognition.

But as the time has changed, women are getting recognition in every field; be it Army or even in their own houses. They are now being called as ‘Homemakers’ instead of ‘Housewives’.

Here is a list of such influential women who were the first in their respective fields.

Tessy Thomas – Missile Woman of India

Tessy Thomas is a name that made India proud by leading an Indian missile project. She is the woman who is responsible for the successful launch of Agni-V missile project.

Dipa Karmakar – Indian Artistic Gymnast

Girls were always taught to behave in a certain way but she grew beyond this. She, Dipa Karmakar, in August 2016, became the first Indian woman to qualify for an Olympic final. as first Indian gymnast.

Shanti Devi – Truck Mechanic

It is quite unusual to find a woman in the ‘mechanic’ field but there is Shanti Devi who has been repairing Trucks for 20 years now.

Deepa Malik – Paralympics Winner

We might have been late to give her enough recognition until 2016 when she won a medal in Paralympic Games at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.

Avani Chaturvedi – First Woman Combat Pilot

When the whole society aimed at clipping down wings of girls, Avani Chaturvedi became the first woman to fly solo a fighter aircraft.
