Utsav Dixit, a 33-year-old stand-up comedian and businessman from Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, was arrested on Sunday after allegedly crashing his Porsche into the fence surrounding KBR Park. The incident, which caused significant damage to the park’s boundary wall, grills, and pavement, occurred early on Friday morning, according to city police.
Details of the Crash and Investigation
The crash reportedly happened due to reckless driving, leading Dixit to lose control of the vehicle. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) S. Venkat Reddy stated that the police were alerted around 5:45 a.m. by a citizen’s call to the Dial 100 helpline. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered a red Porsche with front-end damage and a missing number plate. A broken plate inside the vehicle was found with the registration number TS10FH0900, which helped trace Dixit as the driver.
After fleeing the scene, Dixit was traced and arrested following evidence verification. He has since undergone alcohol and drug tests, with results pending. The police have seized Dixit’s driver’s license, forwarding it to the Road Transport Officer (RTO) for potential disqualification under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
