Modi 3.0 Government: The swearing-in ceremony for Modi 3.0 is set to take place on June 9. Actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi, representing BJP, secured a landmark victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, marking the party’s inaugural win in Kerala. He faced formidable opponents such as CPI’s former minister VS Sunil Kumar and senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan, ultimately securing a significant lead for BJP in Thrissur.
Born in June 1958 in Alappuzha, Kerala, Suresh Gopi holds a bachelor of science degree in Zoology and a Master of Arts degree in English literature. He actively engages in acting and playback singing, primarily in Malayalam cinema, and has also featured in several Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films. Alongside his artistic pursuits, he dedicates himself to philanthropy and social work.
Following his appearance in numerous movies, Suresh attained breakthrough success by portraying the lead role in Shaji Kailas’s Thalastaanam (1992). He has featured in over 250 films, establishing himself as a dependable star in Malayalam cinema with Ekalavyan (1993).

In October 2016, Suresh officially aligned himself with the BJP. During the 2019 Indian general election in Kerala, he ran as a BJP candidate from the Thrissur constituency. However, he was defeated by the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate TN Prathapan. In March 2024, the BJP announced him as their candidate from the Thrissur constituency for the Lok Sabha elections in Kerala.
Suresh Gopi became a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Rajya Sabha on 29 April 2016, nominated by the President of India under the eminent citizens category as per Article 80 of the Constitution of India. He served as a Rajya Sabha member from 2016 to 2022.
