New Delhi: A Pakistani woman, Seema Haider, who illegally entered India in May, is currently leaving with her Indian husband in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) is interrogating her.
The recent developments occurred after a suspected operative linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), was arrested in Lucknow. This individual was accused of sharing vital information about defence establishments with their handlers across the border.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has commenced the questioning of a Pakistani woman, coinciding with a situation where an unknown right-wing fringe group in Greater Noida has issued a threat to stage a protest. The group demands the expulsion of Haider, along with her four children who entered India illegally, from the country within 72 hours.
Media confirmed that Haider is currently being interrogated by the ATS on Monday, with no involvement from the local police. The local police are conducting a separate investigation and have yet to file a chargesheet, as per the officer’s statement.
Who is Seema Haider and How she entered India
Seema Haider, a 27-year-old married mother of four from Sindh, Pakistan, claims to have met Sachin Meena, a 22-year-old unmarried shopkeeping assistant from India while playing the online shooting game PUBG during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. According to the couple, Seema, along with her children, managed to leave Pakistan and enter India through Nepal in March.
In May, they arrived in Noida via Dubai and Nepal, where Sachin received them. They have been residing in a rented apartment in the village of Rabupura, located approximately 55 km from New Delhi, in Greater Noida. Seema and Sachin assert that they are married and wish to stay together in India.
However, an official complaint has been lodged at Rabupura police station, invoking various provisions such as the Foreigners Act and the Passport (Entry into India) Act, along with sections 120B (related to criminal conspiracy) and 34 (act done by several people with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
About her Indian Husband
Seema’s estranged husband, Ghulam Haider, who works in Saudi Arabia, wishes to be reunited with his wife and children. He has appealed to the authorities in both India and Pakistan for their return.
Seema’s decision to remain with Sachin, who is a Hindu, has caused anger among her tribe in Pakistan. Her home in Bhittaiabad, a Katchi Abadi in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, consists of a three-room portion in an unpainted building situated in a narrow lane filled with garbage and overflowing sewage.
