Who Is Pinaki Misra, The Former Lawmaker And Lawyer Who Married TMC MP Mahua Moitra?

The TMC MP is representing Krishnanagar constituency in the Lok Sabha. She joined TMC in 2010.

TMC MP Mahua Moitra tied the knot with senior Supreme Court lawyer and former BJD MP Pinaki Misra in Germany on May 3. The secret wedding came to light after a photograph of the couple went viral on social media. In the photograph, Mahua is seen holding Pinaki Mishra’s hand.

Mahua posted on X, ” Thank you everyone for the love and good wishes!! So grateful.”

Mahua was earlier married to Danish financer Lars Brorson, but later she divorced him. She was reportedly in a relationship with Lawyer Jai Anant Dehad Rai.

The TMC MP is representing Krishnanagar constituency in the Lok Sabha. She joined TMC in 2010. She was first elected as MP in 2019 but she was expelled from Lok sabha over cash-for-query allegations in 2023. She was again fielded by the TMC in 2024 and won the poll.  

Who Is Pinaki Misra?

Pinaki Misra is a senior Supreme Court lawyer and former BJD MP. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1996 and later served as the MP from Puri from 2009 to 2019. In the 2024 elections, the BJD did not field him as a candidate.

Misra has a career spanning over three decades in both politics and law. He was also a member of several parliamentary committees.
