The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary Board on Sunday appointed Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Nabin as the party’s National Working President. He will succeed Union Minister JP Nadda, who has held the position of BJP National President since January 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nabin upon his appointment as the BJP President, praising him as “young and hardworking Karyakarta with rich organisational experience.”

In a post on X, PM Modi said that Nabin has distinguished himself as a hardworking Karyakarta, while noting his impressive record as both an MLA and a Minister in Bihar over multiple terms. “Shri Nitin Nabin Ji has distinguished himself as a hardworking Karyakarta. He is a young and industrious leader with rich organisational experience and has an impressive record as MLA as well as Minister in Bihar for multiple terms. He has diligently worked to fulfil people’s aspirations. He is known for his humble nature and grounded style of working. I am confident that his energy and dedication will strengthen our Party in the times to come. Congratulations to him on becoming the BJP National Working President,” the post stated.
Who is Nitin Nabin?
Born on May 23, 1980, the same year the BJP was founded, Nitin Nabin Sinha is poised to become the youngest president of the party at the age of 45 once formally elected. He currently serves as a minister in the Nitish Kumar–led Bihar government, holding the Road Construction portfolio. He represents the Bankipur constituency in Patna district. He is the son of veteran BJP leader and former MLA Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha. He completed his intermediate education in 1998 from C. S. K. M. Public School, Delhi. Following his father’s death in 2006, Nabin entered active electoral politics.
Nitin Nabin’s political career
Five-time MLA Nabin has excellent experience in governance, having served as a Minister in the Bihar government several times. He has also worked extensively with the BJP’s Yuva Morcha and served as a State in-charge. In Bihar, he has held important positions, including Minister of Road Construction, Urban Development and Housing, and Law. In 2008, he served as a National Executive Committee Member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and Co-in-charge of the Youth Wing and went on to became the National General Secretary of the Yuva Morcha in 2010.
From 2016-19, he held the post of the Yuva Morcha State President in Bihar and was appointed the BJP Election In-charge in Sikkim in 2019. In June 2019, he was made the Sikkim State BJP Organisation In-charge. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated Nitin Nabin, extending wishes for success during his tenure.
