Delhi car blast: Another youth linked to the Delhi Red Fort car blast has been identified. According to various news reports, the Special Cell investigating the case has traced the involvement of Mirza Shadab Baig, a fugitive Indian Mujahideen operative wanted for several bombings in Gujarat and Rajasthan, in the deadly explosion in the capital.
Al-Falah University link with Mirza Shadab Baig
Al Falah University in Faridabad is already under investigation for helping a terror group and for money laundering. This happened after its link with the terrorist involved in the Red Fort blast came to light. According to an NDTV report, the university had earlier also admitted another student, Mirza Shadab Baig, who was involved in the Gorakhpur, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur serial bombings. Al Falah was granted university status in 2014

Who is Mirza Shadab Baig?

According to the Delhi Police Special Cell, Baig is wanted for multiple blasts carried out in Rajasthan and Gujarat in 2008. Baig also has an active Interpol Red Corner Notice against him. He is said to have fled India shortly after orchestrating the 2008 blasts. Baig reportedly carried out the Gorakhpur blast in 2007, the same year he completed his B.Tech from Al-Falah.
While investigators have not revealed the details about Baig’s exact link to the November 10 Delhi Red Fort blast, sources in the Special Cell said they found a fresh lead in the case, which points to the fugitive Indian Mujahideen operative’s role in the attack that killed 15 people.
“The development has prompted probe agencies to broaden their scrutiny of networks linked to Baig,” news agency PTI reported.
