In a shocking turn of events, Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra has been arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan. Known for her popular travel vlog ‘Travel with Jo’, Jyoti had built a strong presence on YouTube and was active across social media platforms. With a substantial following and consistent viewership, she was believed to be earning a significant monthly income through her YouTube channel. However, her recent arrest has cast a shadow over her online career, leading to a major setback in earnings and reputation. Authorities allege that she shared confidential information with Pakistan’s intelligence agency.
Who Is Jyoti Malhotra?
Jyoti Malhotra is a resident of Hisar in Haryana. She is a well-known travel vlogger and YouTuber. She runs a YouTube channel called ‘Travel with Jo’. The channel is highly professional, where she shared videos documenting her journeys across various countries, including India and Pakistan. The 33-year-old has a large followers both on YouTube and other social media platforms like Instagram. This made her quite popular also in and outside India. However, following the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, she has been accused of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency. This serious allegation could severely impact her reputation, earnings, and assets.
Haris Malhotra, father of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested by Haryana Police on Sunday has spoken on the entire incident. He stated that his daughter used to make YouTube videos and had visited Pakistan. Describing the day police had visited their house, Haris said that the police had first visited on Thursday and taken their bank documents, phone, laptop, and passport. He has now demanded the police to return the phones taken by them.
Talking about Jyoti, Haris said that she used to visit Delhi and had been in Hisar for the last four to five days. Notably, Haryana Police had arrested Jyoti on suspicion of spying for Pakistan, and was sent to five days of police remand by a local court.

Earnings From YouTube
Jyoti used to earn from YouTube advertisements also. According to the YouTube policy, every 1,000 views on YouTube will help you make money. YouTube’s pay for 1,000 views varies, but generally falls between $2 to $12 per 1,000 views. This range is an estimate, and the actual amount earned can vary depending on factors like ad type, viewer location, and advertiser budget. If Jyoti’s each video got an average of 50,000 views and she posted 10 videos a month, then her monthly views could be around 5 lakh. Then the estimated monthly YouTube earnings will be between Rs 83,000 and Rs 4,98,000.

Jyoti also earned from sponsorships and brand deals. Generally, travel vloggers are sponsored by many brands for travel gear, hotels, airlines and travel apps.
