Ajay Kumar, an IAS officer from the 2013 batch has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon. He is among the 27 officers who have been transferred after formation of new Haryana Government. The administrative order was issued by Haryana Chief Secretary.
As per the order, Dhirendra Khadgata, a 2012 batch IAS officer, has been appointed deputy commissioner (DC) of Rohtak and Nishant Kumar Yadav as the new Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner. Deputy Commissioners of 10 districts have been reshuffled in this administrative order. Pradeep Dahiya has been appointed as Jhajjar DC, Munish Sharma as Charkhi Dadri DC, Anish Yadav as Hisar DC, Monika Gupta as Panchkula DC, Prashant Panwar as Nuh DC, Preeti as Kaithal DC, Neha Singh as Kurukshetra DC, and Vivek Bharti as DC of Mahendragarh.
Who Is Ajay Kumar?
Ajay Kumar was born in 1983 and hails from Una district of Himachal Pradesh. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Engineering in electronics and communication. He completed engineering from Delhi College of Engineering and MBA from IIM, Kozhikode. He worked as a software engineer at IBM in Bengaluru before joining the Indian Administrative Services in 2013. His administrative career started in Rewari, Haryana and was followed by postings as sub-divisional magistrate in Sirsa and Sonipat between 2015 and 2017. Ajay will succeed Nishant Kumar Yadav as the new Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram. Before his appointment as new Gurugram Deputy Commisoner, Ajay Kumar served as Deputy Commissioner of Rohtak. In his administrative career, Ajay previously served as the deputy commissioner of Bhiwani, Mahendragarh and Nuh.
TOI reported that he is expected to assume his duties by mid-week. In his interaction with TOI, Ajay said that he will focus on resolving issues faced by public, public grievances, timely implementation of government schemes, projects, and coordination with all authorities. He added that smooth delivery of government services will be his main agenda.
