Who is ASP Anuj Chaudhary?
Born on July 15, 1978, he hails from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. He joined the UP Police as a Sub-Inspector in 2001, working his way up to the rank of Circle Officer (CO). He attended the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut for his graduation.
Anuj Chaudhary’s wrestling journey
As a former freestyle wrestler, he had competed in the 84 kg category and represented India in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Anuj trained at the famous Guru Hanuman Akhara in New Delhi. He received the Arjuna Award in 2005 for his accomplishments in wrestling. His accomplishments don’t end here, as he has won medals at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Wrestling Championships, and World Police Games as well. He has served in prominent rank in districts like Rampur and Sambhal. He was promoted to Inspector in 2003 and later to Deputy Superintendent of Police in 2012. Before being promoted to the rank of ASP, he held the rank of Circle Officer (CO) in Sambhal. In August 2025, he was promoted from CO to the rank of ASP. He is known for being the first UP police officer to achieve the ASP rank through the sports quota. Chaudhary is currently posted as ASP of Faridabad.
