Who is Adil Ahmad? J&K Doctor Arrested For Planning Major Terror Plot with AK-47s and 300 kg Explosives — What was his plan?

Jammu and Kashmir Police have foiled a major terror plot in Faridabad, Haryana, recovering 300 kg of explosives, an AK-47 rifle, and a large quantity of ammunition from the residence of a J&K doctor. The AK-47 was reportedly found earlier in Adhil’s locker.

The Jammu and Kashmir police recovered 350 kilograms of explosives (ammonium nitrate), assault rifles, and a large cache of ammunition from Haryana’s Faridabad. The search operations came after the disclosures made by a Kashmiri doctor arrested earlier in connection with terror-related activities. Dr Adil Ahmad Rather, who was arrested last week.

His arrest was made after he was allegedly found putting up posters supporting the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. He had confessed to the possession of AK-47s and explosives at a residence in Haryana’s Faridabad after his arrest from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The police said that the ammunition was recovered from the residence of another accused, Muzammil Shakil.

Jaish-e-Mohammed Link

Police suspect he has links to the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed. Their network is now being investigated.

Kashmir to Faridabad Conspiracy Busted

On November 8, Srinagar police recovered an AK-47 rifle from the locker of Adil Ahmed, a former doctor at Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag. He was subsequently arrested and placed under rigorous interrogation. Reports suggest that Adil was under the radar after he was found putting up posters linked to JeM.

Furthermore, the discovery of the AK-47 in his locker has heightened security agencies’ suspicions about his possible links to the terrorist organisation Jaish.

Raid at Adil’s home in Faridabad

During the investigation into possible links with Jaish, a large quantity of explosives (ammonium nitrate) was recovered from Faridabad. Sources say Dr. Adil Ahmed made several shocking revelations during interrogation.

Acting on his information, a police team conducted a raid in Faridabad, recovering around 300 kg of ammonium nitrate explosives, an AK-47 rifle, and multiple rounds of live ammunition. Police stated that this explosive material could have been intended for a major terrorist attack.

What was his Plan?

Investigation has revealed that the accused doctor had links to Pakistan-based terrorist organisations and had been working as a facilitator for terrorist activities for a long time.

Police believe that individuals from several states are involved in this network, and further arrests are likely in the coming days. The suspects are reportedly targeting various sensitive and high-profile locations across Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Security agencies are now investigating how such a large quantity of explosives (ammonium nitrate) reached Haryana and what their ultimate target was.
