The results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being interpreted in various ways. With the outcomes in, preparations for forming the new government have accelerated. It is almost certain that the next government will be formed by the NDA (National Democratic Alliance). This time, the focus is less on the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) forming the government alone and more on the NDA as a coalition, mainly because the party has fallen short of a clear majority. On Wednesday, an NDA meeting took place in Delhi, where Narendra Modi was unanimously elected as the leader. The subsequent developments from this meeting have sparked discussions, especially about who will gain prominence in Modi 3.0.
Comparing the photos of NDA leaders from 2019 and 2024 reveals significant changes. Leaders who were once close to Narendra Modi now appear to be distant, while those who were distant seem to have come closer.
In the Wednesday meeting of NDA leaders, the photograph showed PM Modi standing next to Chandrababu Naidu and then Nitish Kumar. Following them were leaders from NDA allies like Shiv Sena, NCP (Nationalist Congress Party), Chirag Paswan, Anupriya Patel, and other NDA partners. On the other side, three BJP leaders were standing close to PM Modi. Right next to him was BJP National President JP Nadda, followed by Rajnath Singh, and then Amit Shah. In the previous term, Amit Shah was often seen standing right beside Narendra Modi, but this time there seems to be a noticeable distance. This shift is also being analyzed for its political implications.

Now, let’s consider another picture, this one from 2019. In that year, the BJP came to power with an absolute majority on its own. The photograph of NDA leaders from 2019 features several faces who are no longer part of the alliance. Uddhav Thackeray is no longer with the BJP, and the Akali Dal is also no longer a part of the NDA. Some leaders from that time are no longer alive. In this 2019 image, Amit Shah is seen standing right next to Narendra Modi. However, in the recent photo, Amit Shah appears to be standing a bit further away.
Additionally, during the second term of the Modi government, whether it was a party meeting or a government session, Amit Shah was always present right next to Narendra Modi. Now, in Modi 3.0, this pattern might change. The specific roles of the prominent BJP leaders, who will become ministers and who will not, will be revealed in the coming days. However, one thing is clear: this time, the dynamics have certainly shifted.
