Operation Pimple: The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army achieved a major success on Saturday, November 8, when two terrorists were eliminated in a significant operation in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, which has been named ‘OP PIMPLE’ marks an important achievement in the ongoing efforts to ensure security in the region.
What is Operation Pimple?
Operation Pimple is an ongoing security operation launched by the Indian armed forces in the Keran sector of Kupwara. The joint operation was initiated after alert troops spotted suspicious activity in the area on Friday, November 7. When challenged, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire, leading to a confrontation in which two terrorists were neutralised. The search of the area is still in progress, and the operation is being conducted under the supervision of Chinar Corps to ensure security in the region.
Posting about the operation, Chinar Corps wrote on X, “OP Pimple | Two terrorists have been neutralised by the security forces in the ongoing operation. Search of the area in progress: Chinar Corps.”

Chhatru Encounter
Earlier, on November 5, an encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in the forest area of Kalban in Chhatru, Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, the encounter began after the Jammu and Kashmir Police, with the support of the Indian Army, received specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
“In an intelligence based operation, in concert with @JmuKmrPolice, in early morning hours today, alert troops of WhiteKnightCorps have established contact with terrorists in general area of Chhatru. Fire exchanged with terrorists. Operation is in progress,” White Knight Corps posted on X.
